What Is SHINE FIT? Our Mission, Our Community, and Why We're Different

Maybe you've walked past a gym and kept walking.
Maybe you've signed up for a membership you used twice.
Maybe you've watched fitness content online and thought "that's not me" and somehow felt worse about yourself after.
We know that feeling. You deserve better than that. So we built something different.

We're not a gym. We're something better.
SHINE FIT is a dance fitness studio in Toronto, steps from Bloor-Yonge station. We've been building this community since 2020, and in that time we've been part of over 1,000 transformations. None of which have anything to do with how your body looks.
Our classes are dance-based, high-energy, and built for people regardless of fitness level, background, or how long it's been since you last broke a sweat. You don't need dance experience. You don't need to be "fit enough." You just need to show up, try your best, have fun, and cheer others on.
What We Actually Believe
Here's what you won't find at SHINE: before-and-after photos, diet plans, or aggressive fitness challenges that leave you burnt out. We will never talk about burning calories or losing weight.
We made a deliberate choice to remove all of the diet culture and replace it with a simple concept: build your confidence.
Why? Fitness culture has spent decades telling women your body is a problem to be solved or a number to be shrunk. That movement exists to make you smaller. That you have to earn your place in the room. All this does is make women feel less than or not enough, and that's not okay.
We don't believe any of that.
We believe that fitness is not about what you lose or take away from your life (whether pounds, fun, social life, or treats). Rather, fitness is about what you add to your life, like adding more energy, more strength, more confidence, and more fun!
At SHINE, movement is for joy. Our goal is for you to feel better walking out of the studio than when you walked in.
We believe the most powerful thing fitness can do is build your confidence. In your body, in yourself, in what you're actually capable of. That's the only transformation we're interested in.
Who SHINE FIT Is For
Honestly? Anyone who wants to have fun working out.

👉 The one who loves to dance but never thought of it as a "real" workout.
👉 The one who's been burned by fitness culture. The diet talk, the body commentary, the constant low-grade feeling of not being enough. And is completely done with all of it.

You belong here. Exactly as you are, right now.
We've watched women walk through our doors barely able to make eye contact and leave three months later like they own the room. That shift is what we're here for.
What a SHINE FIT Class Actually Feels Like
Our classes are dance-based cardio and strength, set to music that makes it hard to stand still. Moves are taught step by step. No experience needed. You'll sweat. You'll laugh. You'll probably mess up the choreography and not care, because everyone around you is having too much fun to notice.
Every class is led by instructors who genuinely love what they do and genuinely love this community. The energy is different from anything you've felt in a traditional gym. It's loud. It's warm. It feels less like a workout and more like clubbing with your best friends (except, leaving with an endorphin high, not a hangover).
A Community That Actually Shows Up For You
What keeps women coming back to SHINE isn't just the classes. It's each other.
This is a community of women who cheer for each other, remember each other's names, and show up on the days when showing up is hard. Women who've become friends, accountability partners, the reason someone sets their alarm on at 6am on a Tuesday morning.
We built SHINE to be community-forward by design. In our programming, we give members set schedules to increase the chances of you seeing the same faces and actually being able to make friends week over week.
Our coaches teach the same days and times with consistent schedules, so you know your Coaches and your Coaches know you. You're never just a face in a crowd.
