Pro Program
Train where the pros train.
SHINE FIT's Pro Program is a curated membership designed exclusively for professional and pre-professional dancers, performers, and musical theatre artists. Inspired by programs like the Lululemon Sweat Collective, the SHINE Pro Program gives qualifying talent heavily discounted access to our classes - because we know the stronger you are, the better you perform.
WHO IT'S FOR
The SHINE Pro Program is open to:
-
Professional dancers and dance artists
-
Competitive and pre-professional dancers, or enrolled in post-secondary dance program
-
Musical theatre performers
-
Performing artists and actors in professional or pre-professional training with a dance element
Whether you're in a university dance program, training with a company, or actively working in the industry - if movement is your craft, this program was built for you.
WHAT YOU GET
Heavily discounted, flexible access - up to 40-50% off retail
We know how performers live. Gig work, touring, contract seasons, audition cycles - your schedule is anything but 9 to 5, and the last thing you need is a fitness membership/contract that doesn't move with you.
That's why the Pro Program is built to be flexible. There are no lock-ins, no long-term commitments, and no penalties for the seasons when life takes you elsewhere. You just get great training, at a price that makes sense.
Choose the option that works for you:
-
5-class packs for $100 ($20/class) - perfect if your schedule varies or you're in and out of the city
-
Unlimited monthly membership for $150 (includes online + in studio) - ideal when you're in a training block and want to come as often as you like
Both options are up to 40-50% off our standard retail pricing, because talent deserves access.
Community and Events
The Pro Program isn't just about classes. You'll get access to our community of fellow pros - dancers, performers, and musical theatre artists who train at SHINE and understand your world.
Once the program is up and running in full swing, we plan to host events throughout the year where Pro members can connect, move together, and build the kind of friendships that only happen when you're in a room full of people who get it.
BENEFITS FOR YOU
Dance is a sport. Dancers are athletes. We know this, but the sports industry hasn't always treated us that way.
From our experience, you can either go to a really functional athletic training class - think Barry's, F45, running, weightlifting - or you can go to a dance cardio class. The problem is that a lot of dance workouts are fun, but they're not actually hard or intense enough to train you at the level you need. They don't give you the challenge required to build strength and endurance. You leave feeling like you moved, but not like you trained.
SHINE FIT exists in a category of its own: dance-based athletic training. Our classes are functional athletic training - the kind of cross-training that makes you a better, stronger, more resilient performer - set to music you actually love, in a format that feels like your world. Every class is designed to build the physical foundation your career demands:
-
Functional strength across your major muscle groups - glutes, hamstrings, quads, core, chest, and arms - so you can perform at your highest level and protect your body doing it
-
Aerobic and anaerobic conditioning that builds the endurance to get through a full show, a full rehearsal, or a full competition day without hitting a wall
-
Injury prevention through balanced, full-body training that addresses the imbalances dancers develop over years of training
-
All in formats that are genuinely fun - the kind of workout you'll actually look forward to
Sidenote: This is the workout our founder wished she had when she was a competitive dancer. It's not a replacement for your dance training - it's what makes your dance training better.
WHAT WE GET
If you’re thinking, “this just sounds too good to be true… What's the catch?" We do have some selfish motivation.
SHINE FIT was founded by an ex-competitive dancer. When we look at our best instructors, the pattern is clear: they come from competitive dance backgrounds, or they work professionally in dance and performing arts. That's not a coincidence - that's who we are.
So yes, this program is a win-win.
For you, it means access to world-class, dance-informed fitness training at a price that respects the reality of a performer's income. It means a community of people who get it, who speak your language, and who show up to work hard and have a lot of fun doing it.
For us, it solves one of the hardest problems in boutique fitness: finding and keeping great talent. Here's the reality - instructing is mostly a part-time role, and it requires a rare combination of musicality, great form, physical fitness, and a personality that can hold a room. Some turnover is inevitable. But, being understaffed or having the wrong people in the room affects everyone, and the traditional hiring process - job boards, cold resumes, interviewing people who've never taken a class - is slow, expensive, and draining.
The Pro Program changes that. Instead of searching for talent, we build relationships with you months to years in advance. When we open instructor hiring - and we will, often, as we grow - we go directly to people who are already qualified, already connected, and already love the brand. SHINE FIT is a startup with aggressive expansion plans: five locations in Toronto by 2030 and then into the US, with New York City in our sights. That kind of growth requires a lot of incredible people, and the Pro Program is how we plan to find you.
Does this mean you have to want to work for SHINE FIT to get in? Not at all. Having pros in our classes adds authority, credibility, and energy that benefits every single member in the room. It also means we have an incredible pool of camera-ready, media-trained talent to call on when opportunities come up - like our Breakfast Television segment, Curiocity & CULTR Toronto features, BlogTO, content shoots, brand partnership, etc. We need people we already know and trust, and our Pro community gives us exactly that.
If a SHINE instructor role is never part of your plan, this relationship still has value. You get fitter and stronger, you train alongside people who understand your world, and we get to cheer you on and play a small role in your journey. If it never leads to anything beyond that - we are more than happy with it. :)
HOW TO APPLY
The Pro Program is application-based and accepts a limited number of new members each month.
To apply, you'll need to:
-
Have taken some classes at SHINE - your first class is free (or some organizations have special intro deals)
-
Submit a short application including your performance background, any organizational affiliations, and a brief video ("sizzle reel") showcasing your energy and form
-
If you haven’t already talked to a Head Coach in the studio, we may set up a brief 5-10min video call.
Membership through a SHINE partner organization strengthens your application, but any pre-professional or professional performer is welcome to apply. Referrals from existing pros also help. Members requalify annually.
Is your organization a SHINE Partner?
We partner with dance programs, theatre companies, talent agencies, conservatories, and performing arts organizations across Toronto to offer their members exclusive access to the Pro Program. Partner organizations receive co-branded recognition and a semi-annual private class for their group at our studio.
If your organization isn't yet a partner, reach out - we'd love to connect.
